Most people know very little about Parkinson's Disease. Even to those who are familiar with it there is a little known problem that the disease causes, that is loosing your capacity to speak. That is not to say that people with Parkinson's Disease can't talk, they tend to loose the ability to project their voice. They speak very softly to not at all in many cases. That is where the Tremble Clefs come in.
The group called The Tremble Clefs can be found in different parts of the country and they help people with Pakinson's Disease regain the use of there voice through singing. That's right SINGING!!!. When you sing you use the muscles that help you breathe better and project your voice. This enables many people with Parkinson's Disease to be heard again, increase their quality of life and creates a level of companionship for all those involved with the Tremble Clefs.
Here in Maricopa County in Arizona there are two groups of Tremble Clefs, the East Side and the West Side Tremble Clefs. They meet independently on a regular basis to practice voice exercises and sing. Very often they put on concerts for assisted living facilities, nursing homes, churches and related groups. They bring a great deal of joy to many people and brighten up what would have been just another day.
The West Side Tremble Clefs are having a fund raiser April 1st at a Little Bite of Italy restaurant in Sun City where 20% of the proceeds from the meals that day will be generously given to the West Side Tremble Clefs. The West Side Tremble Clefs are also having a raffle that day to help generate funds to keep the group going. Some of the Songs that the West Side Tremble Clefs perform can be found on You Tube. Come and support a great group of people so that they can be heard again!
